I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and the host was great and really attentive. He is working hard to refurbish the pub and bring it up to date however not to lose its personality. The room was comfortable and perfect for what we needed it for. The pub is lovely and quaint in a beautiful village. Thank you for a great stay.

Just a fabulously friendly old world atmosphere! Marvelous staff and a fireplace to die for. Fabio is doing a bang up job of breathing fresh air into the place. Not to be missed!

Just stayed at The Chequers Inn and it’s an absolute gem. A charming listed building full of genuine old-English character — the kind of place where the history hits you the moment you walk in. The pub and rooms are currently being upgraded over the next few months, and you can already see the passion going into the work. Even mid-renovation, everything felt clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Fabio, the owner, deserves a special mention. He’s clearly dedicated to bringing this place back to its best, with plans to introduce top-class food in the near future. He’s friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about the experience his guests have. Another big plus — the pub is dog-friendly, which makes it an even better stop for anyone travelling with pets. If you appreciate traditional English charm, great hospitality, and exciting improvements on the horizon, The Chequers Inn is definitely worth a visit.

My Family and I stayed last weekend for two nights, the room was clean and functional and plenty of space for the family. The Chequers inn is a wonderful old pub dripping in history and was a fantastic base. The real star of the show though is Fabio, who has recently taken on the establishment and is the most attentive and accommodating host you could wish for. I am sure that with his hard work this place will become an absolute jewel. I would not hesitate recommending staying here and supporting the transformation of such a wonderful place.

This pub is wonderful. Fabio is a great host. He has a broad selection of great wines and I must point out the lovely wine glasses. The inglenook fireplace has to be seen to be believed, and arrive early to grab the seats inside it, the fire is always on!! The pub is in transition but go and you will love it.

I can’t speak to the quality of the rooms, but I can say that this fairly lively place has well kept beers and a great selection of wines. Plus it’s very dog friendly and there’s even a special dog menu! Doesn’t yet serve food but if that quality is on a par with service and ambience it’ll be stunning. My favourite place for a pint in Forest Row, by a wide margin.

What a splendid place. The energy is so so kind and friendly. Fabio is a top bloke and so down to earth, had some lovely conversations with him. The rooms were cozy and clean, and any questions me and my partner had were answered with such helpfulness. Will definitely coming back soon.
